16-1-06 Cowling nearly finnished, I have some small parts to make to connect the two parts together on the back and make the hole for the exhaust and air inlet. There was still an other problem, I have to cut up the intake manifold again because it is still to big.  Lots of brackets to hold the cowling. 8 on top and 8 below. Each bracket had to be adjusted. separatly to have the good fit and angle.
More disaster!!  I made a mistake with the dimensions of the starter. I have to make more room for it. I won't go over the whole moldmaking again, so I dicided to change the cowling.  2-1-06 Upper cowling has new bigger "starter buble" and started with trimming the edges.
23-12-05  mold of upper cowling came of the plug. and already get first layer of gellcoat 29-12-05  upper cowling came out of the plug. Testfit on the fuselage. There had to be a lot of trimming and cutting to do. There is a small problem with the intake manifold of the engine. I have to change it a litle to let it fit underneath (see engine)
11-12-05 Some extra space for the rear mounted starter 19-12-05  gellcoat and first layer glass on the plug. this are the first steps to make the mold.
Testfit on fuselage . Someone any interest in my mold?? 18-11-05 Starting moddeling the plug of the upper cowling
6-11-2005  Mold of lower cowling came of the plug! 18-11-05 Lower cowling came out of the mold and testfit on engine
mold before splitting! Some pieces of the plug where bonded to the mold. Maybe I have to use more wax next time. It came off very difficult
Bottom view of the cowling plug. Lots of glueing, filling and sanding to do. 22-10-05. Bottom side is ready! Now I have to buy the materials to make the mold of the lower cowling. My whole workshop is covered with sanding dust!!!!. I am happy not to built a plastic plane. I hate the sanding and filling.
27-09-05 Glueing some styrofoame on the cowling plug
